Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a copy of an itemized bill?
To obtain a copy of your bill, contact the business office at (972) 403-2700.  You will need to provide your name, date of birth, account number, and date of service at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery.  You will receive the itemized bill at the current address listed on your account within ten business days. Depending on the medical care you receive, you may receive separate bills from other providers practicing within our hospital (radiologist, pathologist, surgeon, etc).

Does Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery accept my insurance?
We accept Medicare and Medicaid in addition to many other major insurance carriers.  Click on the following link to see the insurance plans accepted – (Link here).  Please contact your insurance company or employer for specific contracting guidelines, even if your provider is on our approved list.

Will all of my insurance be billed?
Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery is happy to bill your insurance company as a courtesy to you, however, if payment is not received from your insurance company(ies) within 45 days, you will be required to pay the bill in full.  Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company and prior communication with your insurance company before any procedure or visit is highly recommended.

Does the Hospital accept credit cards?
Yes. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted forms of payment.  You may pay electronically, by mail or phone.  Personal checks are also accepted.

How can I check on the status of my account?

If it has been at least 45 days since the date of discharge, contact your insurance carrier for the status of your claim. If you have remaining questions after contacting your insurance company, please call the Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery business services office at (972) 403-2700.

What should I do if my insurance denies a claim?
If you feel your claim was denied in error, contact your insurance carrier for a detailed explanation on the claim. The Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery business office will also receive an explanation of benefits (EOB) from your insurance company stating the claim has denied. We will reflect this information on your account and a statement will be sent to you requesting payment in full.

How will I know if my hospital bill has been paid?
Your insurance carrier should send you an explanation of benefits (EOB) indicating they have processed the claim. The EOB will also show any payments made to the hospital and the amount that is your responsibility. You will receive a statement from the hospital once all insurances have been processed. This statement will reflect all insurance payments, adjustments and balance remaining. Any remaining balance is your responsibility.

What if I can’t pay my bill?
The hospital has a financial assistance program.  Approval generally takes 24-48 hours prior to your procedure so we encourage you to contact our financial counselor at (972) 403-2872 as soon as possible.
